mailgun alternative / email api

The Mailgun alternative that already runs your Mailgun code.

Yantra Mailer is a Mailgun-compatible email API. Keep mailgun.js, the Mailgun PHP and Go SDKs or plain curl, change the base URL and the API key, and your app sends through Yantra.

What you get.

  • Change two settings, keep your code

Sends, domains, templates and webhooks use the same paths, fields and Basic auth. Point your SDK at https://mailer.yantra.app, swap in a Yantra API key and the rest stays as it is.

  • Sending domains with DKIM

Add a domain, publish the DNS records it gives you and watch the live check pass. A sandbox domain lets you test with recipients you have confirmed while your DNS is on its way.

  • Transactional email API and SMTP relay

Send receipts, password resets and alerts over HTTP, or over the SMTP relay on ports 587, 465 and 2525 for anything that cannot call an API.

  • Logs, metrics and email deliverability

Follow each message from accepted to delivered, opened or clicked, chart your rates by domain, tag or mailbox provider, and see failed mail grouped by cause.

  • Email webhooks and suppressions

Signed email webhooks report deliveries, bounces, complaints and unsubscribes. Suppressions are kept per domain, where you can search, import and remove them.

  • Templates, mailing lists and routes

Versioned Handlebars templates with a live preview, mailing lists, address validation, and routes that forward the mail you receive to a URL or an address.

Asked often.

What is the best Mailgun alternative?

It depends on what you need. If you want to move without a rewrite, Yantra Mailer is our pick: it answers the Mailgun API, so the code you have keeps working, with domains, logs, templates and webhooks in one control panel.

Mailgun vs Yantra Mailer: which should I choose?

Choose Mailgun for a specialist email provider, especially if you need dedicated IPs or sending through the EU. Choose Yantra Mailer if you want your email API in the same workspace as your apps and your AI agent.

How do I switch from Mailgun?

Add your sending domain in Yantra Mailer, publish its DNS records and create an API key. Then set your SDK to the base URL https://mailer.yantra.app and use the new key.

Which SDKs work with it?

mailgun.js, the Mailgun PHP and Go SDKs, curl and any other HTTP client. The control panel has a ready snippet for cURL, Node.js, Python, PHP and Go.

Can I send over SMTP instead of the API?

Yes. Create SMTP credentials for a domain and connect to smtp.mailer.yantra.app on port 587 or 2525 with STARTTLS, or on port 465 with TLS.

Is Yantra Mailer part of Mailgun?

No. Yantra Mailer is our own email service, built to work with the Mailgun API.
